Bio

Marlon McKen, known as Portah

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Portah moved to the United States as a teenager and first built a career in acting before turning his focus to business — and eventually, fully, to music. What started as a passion on the side became the main event once he realized songwriting was where he belonged.

Raised on the influence of Bounty Killa, Buju Banton, Freddie McGregor, and Sizzla, Portah has developed a reputation in dancehall and reggae circles for his songwriting — often sought out by other artists looking for material as much as for his own catalog. His breakout record has passed 140,000 streams, and his catalog continues to grow with a steady stream of new singles.
